MIB has always valued the privacy of personal information. When MIB collect, use, disclose or handle personal information, MIB will be bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (the ‘Act’).
MIB collect personal information to offer, provide, manage and administer the insurance services we provide to our clients.
MIB disclose personal information to third parties who we believe are necessary to assist us in providing the relevant services and products to our clients. For instance, we disclose personal information to relevant product providers and their representatives, our agents and contractors. We limit, however, the use and disclosure of any personal information provided by us to such third parties for the specific purpose for which it was supplied.
When you give MIB personal information about other individuals, we rely on you to have made or make them aware that you will or may provide their personal information to us, the types of third parties we may provide it to, the relevant purposes we and third parties we disclose it to will use it for, and how they can access it. If it is sensitive information we rely on you to have obtained their consent on these matters. If you have not done either of these things, you must tell us before you provide the relevant information.
If you collect, use, disclose or handle personal information on our behalf, or receive it from us, you and your representatives must meet the relevant requirements of the National Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and you must only use such information for the specific agreed purpose(s).
If you would like a copy of the MIB Privacy Policy, or wish to seek access to or correct the personal information we collected or disclosed about you, please telephone or email your MIB representative.
